Psalms 85

A Prayer for Restoration

1 Lord, You were good to Your land; You brought back Jacob from his struggle.

2 You forgave the wrong of Your people; You covered all their sin.

3 You took away all Your wrath; You turned from the heat of Your anger.

4 Bring us back, God of our rescue, And stop Your anger at us.

5 Will You be mad at us forever, Will You make Your anger last for all generations,

6 Will You not give us life again, So Your people can be happy in You,

7 Lord, show us Your grace, And give us Your rescue.

God’s Promise

8 I will hear what the Lord God will say, because He will speak peace to His people, To His faithful ones; But do not let them turn back to foolishness.

9 For sure, His rescue is close to those who fear Him, So props can live in our land.

10 Loyal grace and truth met each other; Righteousness and peace kissed.

11 Truth will sprout from the earth, And righteousness will look down from heaven.

12 The Lord also will give what is good, And our land will give its crops.

13 Righteousness will go in front of Him And set up a path for His steps.
