Psalms 84

Read Psalms 84 in clear, relatable modern language.

A Deep Desire for God

1 How dope are Your homes, O Lord of armies!

2 My soul wants, even longs for the yards of the Lord; My heart and my body cheer out loud to the living God.

3 Even the bird found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, where she can lay her young, At Your altars, O Lord of armies, my King and my God.

4 Happy are those who live in Your house; They will always be praising You.

A Journey to God

5 Happy is the dude whose strength is in You, In whose heart are the highways.

6 When they walk through the Valley of Baca, They make it a place of springs; The early rain also covers it with blessings.

7 They go from strength to strength; Each one of them appears in front of God in Zion.

A Final Prayer

8 Lord God of armies, hear my prayer; Listen, O God of Jacob.

9 Look, O God, our shield, And look at the face of Your chosen one.

10 Because one day in Your yards is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorman in the house of my God Than live in the tents of wickedness.

11 Because the Lord God is a sun and a shield; The Lord will give grace and props; He will not hold back anything good from those who walk straight.

12 Lord of armies, happy is the dude who trusts in You!
