Psalms 8

God’s Majesty and Man’s Place

1 Lord, our God, Your name is mad awesome all over the earth! You put Your glory way up in the sky.

2 Out of the mouths of babies and toddlers, You built a fortress because of Your enemies, To shut down the hater and the revenge-seeker.

3 When I peep the sky, Your handiwork, The moon and stars You set up,

4 I am like, “What is a human, that You even think about him, Or a mortal, that You even care?”

5 You made him a little lower than the angels, And crowned him with honor and respect.

6 You put him in charge of everything You made; You put everything under his feet.

7 All the sheep and cows, And the wild animals, too,

8 The birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, Whatever cruises through the ocean.

9 Lord, our God, Your name is mad awesome all over the earth!
