Psalms 62
Read Psalms 62 in clear, relatable modern language.
A Song of Quiet Trust
1 Only in God my soul is quiet; My rescue comes from Him.
2 He alone is my rock and my rescue, My fortress; I will not be shook.
3 How long are you going to chase a dude to knock him down, All of you, like a leaning wall, like a shaking fence,
4 They only plan to push him from his high spot; They love to lie; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inside.
A Call for Trust in God
5 My soul, be quiet only in God, because my hope is from Him.
6 He alone is my rock and my rescue, My fortress; I will not be shook.
7 My rescue and my props are with God; My strong rock and my safe spot are in God.
8 Trust in Him all the time, you people; Spill your heart out in front of Him; God is a safe spot for us.
A Final Word
9 For sure, dudes of low rank are just a whisper, And dudes of high rank are a lie; Put them on a scale, They are lighter than air.
10 Do not trust in violence or get fooled by robbing; If your money gets bigger, do not put your heart on it.
11 God spoke once; I heard it twice, that power belongs to God.
12 And to You, Lord, belongs loyal grace, because You pay back every dude based on his work.
