Urban Word Bible
Psalms 32
Read Psalms 32 in clear, relatable modern language.
The Joy of Forgiveness
1 Happy is the one whose sin is forgiven, Whose wrong is covered.
2 Happy is the dude whose sin the Lord does not count against him, And in his spirit there is no lies.
3 When I kept quiet, my bones wasted away Through my groaning all day.
4 Because day and night Your hand was heavy on me; My strength was gone like in the heat of summer.
5 I told You my sin, And I did not hide my wrong. I said, “I will confess my sins to the Lord,” And You forgave the wrong of my sin.
A Call to Confession and Trust
6 So let everyone who is loyal pray to You While You can be found; Surely when the big-time flood comes, It will not reach him.
7 You are my hiding spot; You will protect me from trouble; You will surround me with songs of rescue.
8 I will teach you and show you the way you should go; I will give you advice with my eye on you.
9 Do not be like a horse or a mule, which do not get it, Whose mouth must be controlled with a bit and a bridle, Or it will not come near you.
A Final Word
10 Many troubles are for the wicked, But grace surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
11 Be happy in the Lord and celebrate, you righteous; Cheer out loud, all you with a straight heart!
