Psalms 30

A Song for Healing

1 I will lift You up, Lord, because You lifted me up, And did not let my enemies be happy about me.

2 Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.

3 Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You kept me alive from going down to the pit.

A Call to Praise

4 Sing praises to the Lord, you His faithful, And thank His holy name.

5 Because His anger is only for a minute, But His grace is for a lifetime. Crying might hang around for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Confidence and Humility

6 As for me, I said in my safe zone, “I will not ever be shook.”

7 By Your favor, Lord, You made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I got shook.

8 I called out to You, Lord, And I begged the Lord for mercy:

9 “What good is it if I die, if I go down to the pit, Will the dust praise You, Will it tell about Your truth,

10 Listen, Lord, and show me grace; Lord, be my helper.

A Song of Thanks

11 You turned my crying into dancing for me; You took off my sad clothes and strapped me with happiness,

12 So that my soul may sing to You and not be quiet. Lord my God, I will thank You forever.
