Psalms 29

God’s Voice

1 Give to the Lord, you sons of the mighty, Give to the Lord honor and strength.

2 Give to the Lord the honor due His name; Bow down to the Lord in His beautiful holiness.

3 The voice of the Lord is on the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is on big-time waters.

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is majestic.

5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; The Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion like a wild bull.

7 The voice of the Lord sends out flashes of fire.

8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; The Lord shakes the desert of Kadesh.

9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth, And strips the forests bare, And in His temple, everybody says, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sits on the throne over the flood; The Lord sits as King forever.

11 The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.
