Read Psalms 25 in clear, relatable modern language.
A Prayer for Guidance and Protection
I lift my soul up to You, Lord.
My God, I trust in You; Do not let me get embarrassed; Do not let my enemies celebrate over me.
Nobody who waits on You will get embarrassed; They are going to get embarrassed who mess up for no reason.
Show me Your ways, Lord; Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, because You are the God of my rescue; I wait on You all day.
A Plea for Mercy and Forgiveness
Remember Your mercy, Lord, and Your grace, because they have been around forever.
Do not remember the sins of my youth, or my wrongs; Remember me according to Your grace, because of Your goodness, Lord.
The Lord is good and straight, So He teaches sinners the way.
He guides the humble in what is right, And teaches them His way.
All the Lord’s paths are grace and truth, For those who keep His promise and rules.
The Character of God
For the sake of Your name, Lord, Forgive my sin, because it is a big one.
Who is the dude who fears the Lord, He will teach him the way he should pick.
His soul will chill in goodness, And his family will get the land.
The Lord tells His secrets to those who fear Him, And He lets them in on His promise.
My eyes are always on the Lord, because He is going to pull my feet out of the net.
A Final Plea
Look at me and show me grace, because I am lonely and messed up.
My heart’s troubles are getting bigger; Bring me out of my distress.
Look at my suffering and my trouble, And forgive all my sins.
Look at all my enemies, they deep, And they hate me with a violent hate.
Keep my soul and rescue me; Do not let me get embarrassed, because I run to You.
Let what is straight and right protect me, because I wait on You.
God, rescue Israel from all his troubles.
