Psalms 21

A Song of Thanks for the King

1 Lord, the king is happy in Your strength; How much he celebrates in Your rescue!

2 You gave him what his heart wanted; You did not hold back what his lips asked for.

3 You met him with blessings of goodness; You put a crown of pure gold on his head.

4 He asked for life from You; You gave it to him, Long life forever and ever.

5 His honor is great because of Your rescue; You gave him honor and respect.

6 You made him a blessing forever; You made him happy with Your presence.

7 Because the king trusts in the Lord, And because of the grace of the Most High, He will not ever be shook.

Judgment on the Enemies

8 Your hand will find all your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You.

9 You will make them like a fiery furnace when You show up. The Lord will swallow them in His anger; Fire will eat them up.

10 You will wipe their kids off the earth, And their family from humanity.

11 Because they planned evil against You; They cooked up schemes they cannot even pull off.

12 Because You are going to make them turn their backs; You will aim Your bow at their faces.

13 Rise up, Lord, in Your strength! We will sing and praise Your power.
