Psalms 147
Read Psalms 147 in clear, relatable modern language.
A Hymn of Praise to the Creator
Praise the Lord! Because it is good to sing praises to our God; because it is dope and praise is fitting.
The Lord builds Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by their names.
Our Lord is big and has massive power; His understanding is without limits.
The Lord holds up the humble; He throws the wicked to the ground.
A Call to Praise
Sing to the Lord with thanks; Make music to our God on the guitar,
Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass grow on the mountains.
He gives to the animal its food, To the young ravens that cry out.
He does not like the strength of a horse, He is not happy with the legs of a dude.
The Lord is happy with those who fear Him, With those who wait for His loyal grace.
A Final Word
Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; Praise your God, O Zion.
Because He made the bars of your gates strong; He blessed your kids inside you.
He makes peace in your borders; He fills you with the best of the wheat.
He sends His command to the earth; His word runs super fast.
He gives snow like wool; He spreads frost like ashes.
He throws His ice like pieces; Who can stand in front of His cold,
He sends out His word and melts them; He makes His wind blow, and the waters flow.
He tells His word to Jacob, His laws and His rules to Israel.
He did not deal with any other nation like this; And as for His rules, they do not know them. Praise the Lord!
