A Call to Remember God’s Works
Thank the Lord; call on His name; Make His works known among the people.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Talk about all His awesome moves.
Brag in His holy name; Let the heart of those who look for the Lord be happy.
Look for the Lord and His strength; Look for His face all the time.
Remember His awesome moves that He did, His miracles and the judgments of His mouth,
O you family of Abraham His servant, You sons of Jacob His chosen ones!
A History of God’s Faithfulness
He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers His promise forever, The word He ordered for a thousand generations,
The promise He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,
And He set it up for Jacob as a law, For Israel as an everlasting promise,
Saying, “I will give you the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance?”
When they were just a few people, Only a few, and strangers in it.
When they went from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people,
He did not let anyone do them wrong; He called out kings for their sake:
“Do not touch My chosen ones, And do not do My prophets any harm.
God’s Provision
He called for no food on the land; He broke all the food supply.
He sent a dude in front of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
They hurt his feet with chains; He was in an iron collar;
Until the time his word came true, The word of the Lord tested him.
The king sent and freed him, The ruler of the people and set him free.
He made him ruler of his house, And a boss over all his stuff,
To discipline his leaders as he wanted, And to teach his elders wisdom.
God’s Deliverance from Egypt
Then Israel also went into Egypt; Jacob lived as a stranger in the land of Ham.
And He made His people get super big, And made them stronger than their haters.
He turned their heart to hate His people, To do tricks with His servants.
He sent Moses His servant, And Aaron whom He chose.
They did His signs among them, And miracles in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness and made it dark, And they did not wilding against His word.
He turned their waters into blood And killed their fish.
Their land was full of frogs, Even in the rooms of their kings.
He spoke, and a bunch of flies came, And gnats in all their borders.
He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire on their land.
He hit their vines also and their fig trees, And broke the trees in their borders.
He spoke, and the locust came, And young grasshoppers without number,
And ate all the plants in their land, And ate the fruit of their ground.
He also hit all the firstborn in their land, The first of all their strength.
Then He brought them out with silver and gold, And among His tribes there was not one weak person.
Egypt was happy when they left, because the scare of them fell on them.
He spread a cloud for a cover, And fire to light up the night.
They asked, and He brought quails, And filled them with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock, and water gushed out; It ran in the dry spots like a river.
Because He remembered His holy word, And Abraham His servant.
And He brought out His people with happiness, His chosen ones with cheering.
He gave them the lands of the nations, And they got the work of the people,
So they would keep His rules And hold on to His laws. Praise the Lord!
