A Question for God
Why are You standing so far away, Lord, Why are You hiding out when we in trouble,
The wicked dude, full of pride, he be chasing the broke. Let them get caught in the schemes they cooked up.
Because the wicked dude’s bragging about what he wants, And he blessing the greedy, while he dissing the Lord.
The wicked dude’s face is all prideful; He does not even look for God. He just think, “God is not real,” that is all he got in his head.
His moves are messed up, all the time. Your judgments are way over his head; He just puffing out his chest at all his enemies.
He be saying to himself, “I am never going to be shook. I am straight, always. I am never going to be in trouble.
The Wicked Man’s Deceit
His mouth is full of curses, lies, and hate. Under his tongue is trouble and mess.
He waits in the alleyways, In the hidden spots he murders the innocent. His eyes be watching for the helpless.
He lurks in his secret spot like a lion in a bush. He lurks to snatch the poor. He snatches the poor when he drags them into his net.
He crouches, he gets low; The helpless fall for his strength.
He is saying in his head, “God forgot. He hid His face; He is not ever going to see it.
A Plea for God to Act
Get up, Lord! God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the oppressed.
Why the wicked dude disrespect God, He is saying in his head, “You are not going to hold me accountable.”
But You see it. You see the trouble and the grief, You looking at it to get even. The helpless leave it all to You; You the one who helps the orphan.
Break the arm of the wicked and the evil dude; Call him out for his wickedness until there is not anything left.
The Lord’s Eternal Reign
The Lord is King forever. The nations are wiped out of His land.
Lord, You heard the wish of the suffering; You will strengthen their heart; You will listen up.
You will do right by the orphan and the oppressed, So nobody on earth can mess with them anymore.
