Kings Moses Took Down on the East Side

1 These are the kings Israel beat on the east side of the Jordan River, From the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon - and all the desert land east.

2 First was King Sihon of the Amorites, Who ran Heshbon. His territory ran from Aroer near the Arnon River, Through the middle of the valley, up through half of Gilead, All the way to the Jabbok River, near the Ammonite border.

3 He also ran the Jordan valley to the Sea of Galilee, Down to the Dead Sea, and east to Beth-jeshimoth - Basically the desert strip below Mount Pisgah.

4 Then there was King Og of Bashan, Last of the Rephaim giants. He ruled out of Ashtaroth and Edrei.

5 His territory was Mount Hermon, Salecah, all of Bashan, And half of Gilead, to the border of King Sihon’s turf.

6 Moses and the Israelites put both these kings in the dirt. Then he gave that land to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasseh.

Kings Joshua Took Down on the West Side

7 Now here is the list of kings Joshua and Israel knocked out On the west side of the Jordan - from Baal Gad in Lebanon To Mount Halak in the south. Joshua handed out this land to the tribes.

8 It covered hill country, valleys, the desert, the slopes, the coasts, and the mountains - From the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, to the Jebusites.
