Bezalel Builds the Bronze Altar

1 Bezalel built the altar for burnt offerings out of acacia wood. It was 7 ½ feet square and 4 ½ feet high.

2 He put horns on each corner and covered the whole thing in bronze.

3 He made all the altar’s tools, buckets, shovels, bowls, meat forks, and firepans, out of bronze.

4 He made a bronze grating and placed it halfway up the altar, under the ledge.

5 He attached four bronze rings at the corners of the grating to hold the carrying poles.

6 He made poles from acacia wood, covered them in bronze,

7 And slid them through the rings so the altar could be carried. The whole thing was made hollow, just like God instructed.

Bezalel Builds the Bronze Wash Basin

8 He made the wash basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors donated by the women who served at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

Building the Courtyard

9 He made the courtyard curtains from fine white linen, 150 feet long on the south side,

10 With 20 posts and 20 bronze bases, plus silver hooks and rods.

11 The north side was the same, 150 feet of linen with 20 posts, 20 bronze bases, and silver hooks and rods.

12 The west side was 75 feet long with 10 posts and 10 bases.

13 The east side was also 75 feet long.

14 One section of the entrance had a 22 ½-foot curtain with three posts and three bases,

15 And the other side had the same, 22 ½ feet of curtain with three posts and bases.

16 All the courtyard curtains were made from fine white linen.

17 The bases for the posts were bronze, the hooks and rods were silver, and the tops of the posts were covered in silver. All posts in the courtyard had silver rods.

The Courtyard Entrance

18 The entrance curtain was 30 feet wide, made from finely woven blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and embroidered. It had four posts and four bronze bases.

19 The hooks and rods were silver, and the tops of the posts were covered in silver.

20 All the tent pegs for the Tabernacle and the courtyard were made of bronze.

The Inventory of Materials

21 This is the list of materials used for the Tabernacle, recorded by the Levites under Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.

22 Bezalel, son of Uri, grandson of Hur, from the tribe of Judah, made everything just like the Lord commanded Moses.

23 Oholiab, son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, helped him. He was skilled in engraving, designing, and embroidery using blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen.

24 All the gold used for the work in the sanctuary weighed 2,193 pounds, based on the sanctuary’s measurements.

25 The silver from the census of the community was 7,544 pounds, based on the sanctuary’s shekel.

26 This came from every Israelite 20 years old and up who was counted, about 603,550 men. Each one gave half a shekel.

27 They used 7,500 pounds of silver to cast the bases for the sanctuary and the curtain, 100 bases in total, each weighing 75 pounds.

28 The remaining 44 pounds were used to make the silver hooks and rods for the posts.

29 The bronze offering totaled 5,310 pounds.

30 They used this to make the bases at the entrance of the Tabernacle, the bronze altar, the bronze grating, and all the altar tools,

31 Along with the bases for the courtyard posts, the entrance curtain, and all the tent pegs for the Tabernacle and courtyard.
