Making the Priestly Garments

1 They made the priest’s robes out of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, just like the Lord commanded.

Making the Ephod (Priestly Vest)

2 They made the ephod from gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, woven into fine linen.

3 They hammered gold into thin sheets and cut it into fine threads, weaving it into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and linen.

4 They made shoulder pieces attached to the ephod at its sides.

5 The waistband was woven the same way, gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, into fine linen, just like the Lord commanded Moses.

6 They mounted two onyx stones, engraved with the names of Israel’s twelve tribes.

7 They set the stones in gold and fastened them on the ephod’s shoulders, as a reminder of Israel before the Lord, just like He commanded Moses.

Making the Breastplate

8 They made the breastplate from gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, woven into fine linen.

9 They made it square, 9 inches by 9 inches, and folded it into a pouch.

10 They set four rows of gemstones on it: The first row had a ruby, topaz, and emerald.

11 The second row had a turquoise, sapphire, and amethyst.

12 The third row had a jacinth, agate, and crystal.

13 The fourth row had a beryl, onyx, and jasper, all set in gold.

14 Each stone was engraved with the name of one of Israel’s twelve tribes.

15 They made twisted gold chains for the breastplate.

16 They made two gold settings and attached them to two rings on the breastplate.

17 They fastened the two gold chains to the rings.

18 They connected the other ends of the chains to the gold settings and attached them to the ephod’s shoulder pieces.

19 They made two more gold rings and put them on the inside edge of the breastplate, next to the ephod.

20 They made two more gold rings on the bottom of the ephod, near the waistband.

21 They tied the breastplate to the ephod with a blue cord, so it stayed in place, just like the Lord commanded Moses.

Making the Robe for the High Priest

22 They made the high priest’s robe entirely from blue cloth, woven in one piece.

23 The collar was reinforced so it would not tear.

24 They made pomegranates from blue, purple, and scarlet yarn along the bottom hem.

25 They made gold bells and placed them between the pomegranates.

26 A gold bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe, just like the Lord commanded Moses.

Making the Other Priestly Garments

27 They made fine linen tunics for Aaron and his sons.

28 They made the turban, caps, and sashes from fine linen.

29 They made the waistband from fine linen with blue, purple, and scarlet thread woven in, just like the Lord commanded Moses.

30 They made the gold plate (the sacred crown) and engraved on it, ‘HOLY TO THE LORD,’ just like a signet ring.

31 They tied it to the turban with a blue cord, just like the Lord commanded Moses.

Completing the Tabernacle Work

32 So the Israelites finished all the work for the Tabernacle, exactly as the Lord had commanded Moses.

33 They brought everything to Moses, the tent, the furniture, the fastenings, frames, bars, posts, and bases,

34 The coverings of ram skins dyed red, fine leather, and the inner curtain to separate the Holy Place.

35 The Ark of the Covenant, its poles, and the Mercy Seat.

36 The table, its utensils, and the Bread of Presence.

37 The pure gold lampstand, its lamps, utensils, and the oil for the light.

38 The gold incense altar, the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense.

39 The bronze altar, its bronze grating, its poles, and utensils. The wash basin and its stand.

40 The curtains for the courtyard, its posts, bases, entrance curtain, ropes, and tent pegs.

41 The special garments for the priests, including Aaron’s high priest robe and his sons’ tunics.

42 The Israelites did all the work exactly as the Lord commanded Moses.

43 Moses inspected everything and saw that they followed God’s instructions perfectly. So he blessed them.
