Moses Sees the Promised Land
1 Then Moses went up to the top of Mount Nebo, across from Jericho. God showed him all the land, from Gilead to Dan, every tribe’s spot.
2 He saw Naphtali, Ephraim, Manasseh, Judah, all the way to the sea.
3 The Negev desert, the valley of Jericho (the city of palms), all the way to Zoar.
4 God said, “This is the land I promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I told them I would give it to their kids, and now I am letting you see it, Moses. But you not going in.”
Moses Passes Away
5 So Moses, the Lord’s servant, died right there in Moab, just like God said.
6 God buried him in a valley in Moab, but nobody knows where that grave is to this day.
7 Moses was 120 years old when he died, But his eyes were sharp, and his strength still solid.
8 The people cried and mourned Moses for 30 days in the plains of Moab, Until the time of grieving was done.
Joshua Steps Up
9 Joshua, son of Nun, had the Spirit of wisdom in him, Moses had laid hands on him. So the people listened to Joshua and followed what God told Moses.
