Deuteronomy 33

Moses Blesses the Tribes Before He Goes

1 This the blessing Moses, the man of God, laid on Israel before he passed.

2 He said: “The Lord pulled up from Sinai, showed out at Seir, Shined bright from Mount Paran, rolled deep with thousands of angels, Flames in His hand.”

3 “He loves His people. All His holy ones ride with Him. They sit at His feet, soaking in His words.”

4 Moses gave us the Law, A legacy for Jacob’s squad.

5 The Lord became King when the leaders gathered, When all the tribes came together in unity.

Tribe of Reuben

6 “Let Reuben live and not die out. Let his numbers grow strong.”

Tribe of Judah

7 For Judah, he said: “Lord, hear Judah’s prayers. Unite him with his people. Give him strength in battle, help him stand strong against his enemies.”

Tribe of Levi

8 For Levi, he said: “Give Your Thummim and Urim (truth and guidance) to Levi, The one who stood loyal at Massah and Meribah.”

9 “He put You above family ties, Did not play favorites with his own people, Kept Your word and guarded Your covenant.”

10 “They teach Your rules to Jacob, Burn incense before You, and lay offerings on Your altar.”

11 “Lord, bless Levi’s hustle. Crush anybody who rises against him, Do not let his haters rise again.”

Tribe of Benjamin

12 For Benjamin, he said: “The Lord loves him, He stays close, resting in God’s arms, Protected and chilling between His shoulders.”

Tribe of Joseph (Ephraim & Manasseh)

13 For Joseph, he said: “May God bless his land heavy, With rain from above, water from deep,

14 Sun-ripened crops, and moon-blessed harvests,

15 Mountain riches and hills stacked with goods,

16 The best from the earth and God’s own favor, Let all that rest on Joseph, the one set apart.”

17 “He is like a wild bull with horns, He is going to run through nations, Ephraim leading the charge, Manasseh riding deep.”

Tribe of Zebulun & Issachar

18 For Zebulun and Issachar, he said: “Zebulun, turn up in your travels. Issachar, rejoice at home.”

19 “They will invite the people to God’s mountain, Offer sacrifices of righteousness, And dip into the riches of the seas and hidden treasures of the land.”

Tribe of Gad

20 For Gad, he said: “Blessed is the one who makes room for Gad. He sits like a lion, tearing up arms and heads.”

21 “He picked the best land for himself, He helped lead the people and carried out the Lord’s justice.”

Tribe of Dan

22 For Dan, he said: “Dan is a young lion, Jumping out from Bashan.”

Tribe of Naphtali

23 For Naphtali, he said: “You are full of favor and blessing, You rest easy by the sea.”

Tribe of Asher

24 For Asher, he said: “Asher is blessed more than most. Let his brothers show him love. He got oil dripping off his feet.”

25 “His gates got iron and bronze. He stay strong as his days roll on.”

Praise to the Most High

26 “There is no god like the God of Jeshurun, He rides the skies to help you, storms for your rescue.”

27 “The eternal God is your foundation. His everlasting arms holding you up, And He crushes your enemies beneath you.”

28 “So Israel going to live safe and free, A land full of grain and wine, Skies heavy with rain.”

29 “Nobody is blessed like you, Israel! God’s your protector, your sword, your strength. Enemies are going to bow down, And you are going to step over their necks.”
