Deuteronomy 32

Read Deuteronomy 32 in clear, relatable modern language.

Moses’ Song: Listen Up, Heaven and Earth

“Ayo heaven, listen up! Earth, tune in, I got something to say.”

“My words going to drop like rain, like fresh dew in the morning, Smooth but heavy with truth.”

“I am lifting up God’s name, He is great, and I am giving Him all the glory.”

“God is solid, like a rock. Everything He does is right. There is no crookedness in Him, He is just and real.”

“But His kids, They wilding. They broke the covenant and acting like they do not know Him. They are not His loyal children, they twisted.”

“How are you going to do God dirty like that, He is your Father, He made you and gave you life.”

Do Not Forget Where You Came From

“Think back, remember the old days. Ask your pops and the elders, they will school you.”

When the Most High gave nations their space, He set the borders based on the number of God’s people.

But Israel, That is God’s personal piece, His inheritance.

He found them in the wilderness, Lost, vulnerable, and He took care of them, guarded them like the apple of His eye.

Like an eagle teaching its babies to fly, He spread His wings, caught them, carried them high.

Nobody but God led them, no fake gods involved.

God Blessed Them, but They Got Too Comfortable

He gave them power over the high places, Fed them honey from rocks and oil from flint.

Gave them butter, milk, meat, the best bread, and fine wine.

But Jeshurun (that is Israel), They got fat and lazy. Kicked God to the curb, forgot the One who saved them.

They disrespected Him with other gods, Worshiped fake idols and made Him jealous.

They offered sacrifices to demons, not God, New gods they barely knew, not the One who brought them through.

They forgot the Rock who gave them life, Forgot who birthed them.

God’s Anger, and His Judgment

God saw it and got heated, He turned His face away from them.

He said, “Let us see what they become, because they a rebellious generation, kids with no loyalty.”

“They made Me jealous with fake gods, So I am going to make them jealous with a nation they do not even respect.”

“My anger is like a wildfire, Burning the ground, the mountains, the roots, everything.”

“I am going to stack disaster on top of disaster, Shooting every shot I got.”

“They are going to starve, catch plagues, get hit with wild animals and snake bites.”

“In the streets, swords going to kill. Inside, fear taking out the young and old.”

But God Still Got Mercy

God said, “I was ready to wipe them off the map, Erase their name from memory.”

“But I held back, because I am not want the enemies thinking They the ones who did it, they do not know I am still in control.”

“These folks got no sense, they do not even recognize what is coming.“

“If only they were wise, they would understand and see where this path leads.”

“There is no way one person chases a thousand unless God handed you all over.”

Their ‘gods’ are not like our Rock, Even their enemies know that.

“They come from a twisted root, their fruit is bitter and deadly.”

“Their wine is like cobra venom, deadly poison from the viper’s mouth.”

God Will Step in, Justice Coming

“I got it all written down, Stored up, waiting for the right moment.”

“Vengeance is Mine. Payback is coming when they slip. Trouble’s around the corner, it is about to hit.”

God is going to step in for His people When He sees they outta strength and nobody is left.

He will say, “Where them gods you worshiped now, Let us see if they save you.”

“You were chilling with them fake idols, Let them rise up now and help you out.”

“Now you see, I am the One. There is no other god. I kill and I heal. I wound and I restore. Nobody is like Me.”

“I raise My hand to heaven and say, ‘I live forever!’”

“When I sharpen My sword and get ready to judge, I am going to get revenge on My enemies.”

“My arrows going to drip with blood, the sword going to feast on flesh.”

God Has the Last Word, Celebrate That

You all better praise God, even you nations, He is going to avenge His people, clean up the land, and forgive the ones who ride with Him.

Moses Gives His Final Words

Moses and Joshua stepped up and sang this whole song to the people.

After that, Moses told them all:

“Take these words seriously, Teach them to your kids, live by them every day.”

“This is not just lyrics, it is your life. Do this and you will live long in the land you are about to enter.”

God Tells Moses: Time to Go

That same day, God told Moses:

“Climb up Mount Nebo, look over the Jordan River, See the land I am giving Israel.”

“You are going to die on that mountain, just like your brother Aaron did.”

“Because you all did not represent Me right at the waters of Meribah, You did not trust Me in front of the people.”

“You can look at the land, But you are not going in.”
