Greeting and Encouragement
This is Paul, writing as an apostle of Christ Jesus, straight up chosen by God to preach about His promise of life through Jesus.
Timothy, my son in the faith, I am wishing you mad grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
I am always thanking God for you, bro. I serve Him with a pure heart, just like my ancestors, and I never stop praying for you, day and night.
I remember your tears, and I cannot wait to see you again so my joy will be complete.
I think about your real-deal faith. It started with your grandma Lois and your mom Eunice, and now I see that same strong faith in you too.
That is why I am telling you: fan into flame the gift God gave you when I laid hands on you.
God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of the gospel or of me, His prisoner. Instead, join me in suffering for the gospel, powered by God.
He saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of anything we did, but because of His plan and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
and now it has been revealed through Jesus, who crushed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this gospel.
That is why I am suffering, but I am not tripping. I know who I believe in, and I am confident He has got me until the day everything gets revealed.
Hold on tight to the sound teaching I gave you, with faith and love that come from Christ Jesus.
Guard the good deposit that has been entrusted to you through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
You know everyone in Asia bounced on me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.
But shoutout to Onesiphorus and his fam, he refreshed me and was not ashamed of me being locked up.
Matter of fact, when he came to Rome, he went hard to find me and did not stop till he did.
May the Lord show him mad mercy on Judgment Day. And you know firsthand how much he helped me out in Ephesus.
