2 Thessalonians 2

The Man of Lawlessness

1 Let us talk about Jesus coming back and us being gathered to Him, fam.

2 Do not get shook or spooked by some fake message or letter saying the Lord already came.

3 Do not let anyone fool you. That day will not come until the rebellion pops off and the man of lawlessness shows up, the one destined for destruction.

4 This dude will oppose and exalt himself over anything called God, even sitting in God’s temple claiming to be God.

5 You all remember I told you this when I was with you, right,

6 Something is holding him back now, so he will only show up at the right time.

7 The mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but it is being held back until the restrainer is out of the way.

8 Then the lawless one will be revealed, but Jesus will take him out with just a breath when He comes back.

9 This dude is powered by Satan, rolling with signs, wonders, and all kinds of lies.

10 He is going to trick people who refuse to love the truth and be saved.

11 God is going to let them believe the lies they want.

12 They will face judgment because they chose lies over truth and evil over good.

Stand Firm

13 But we must thank God for you all, fam. He chose you from the jump for salvation through the Spirit making you holy and your faith in the truth.

14 He called you all through the gospel so you would share in Jesus’ glory.

15 Stand firm, fam, and hold on to the teachings we gave you, whether by word or letter.

16 May Jesus and God, who loved us and gave us eternal encouragement and hope,

17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you to do every good word and deed.
