2 Thessalonians 1

Thanksgiving and Encouragement

1 Listen, it is Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy hollering at the church in Thessalonica, fam in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Grace and peace from God and Jesus be with you all.

3 We must thank God for you all all the time because your faith keeps growing, and your love for each other is on point.

4 We brag about you all to the other churches for holding it down through persecutions and trials, staying faithful.

5 All this shows God’s justice. He is making you all worthy of His kingdom, and you are suffering for it now.

6 God is going to handle those troubling you with payback.

7 And He is giving you all relief when Jesus shows up from heaven with His angels, bringing that fire.

8 He is going to deal with those who do not know God and ignore the gospel of Jesus.

9 They will be shut out from God’s presence forever, paying the price.

10 When Jesus comes back, He will be glorified in His people and marveled at by believers, including you all, because you believed the message.

11 We are praying for you, asking God to make you worthy of your calling and power you up to do what is good and faithful.

12 That way, Jesus gets the glory through you, and you all share in His glory, all by God’s grace.
