The Day of the Lord and Final Instructions
About times and dates, fam, you already know the deal.
The Lord’s Day will come like a thief in the night.
When folks are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will hit suddenly, like labor pains, and there will be no escape.
But you all are not in the dark, so this day will not sneak up on you.
You are children of the light and day, not darkness and night.
So do not sleep on this. Stay woke and sober.
People sleep at night and get drunk at night,
but since we are in the day, let us stay sober, rocking the armor of faith and love, and the hope of salvation as our helmet.
God did not set us up for His wrath but to receive salvation through Jesus.
He died for us so that whether we are alive or dead, we will live with Him.
Encourage and build each other up, just like you all been doing.
Show love and respect to those working hard among you, especially leaders who guide you in the Lord.
Hold them in high regard. And live in peace with each other.
We urge you all to warn the lazy, encourage the scared, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.
Do not pay back evil with evil. Always strive to do good to each other and everybody else.
Be joyful always.
Pray nonstop.
Give thanks in all situations, because this is God’s will for you in Christ.
Do not quench the Spirit.
Do not ignore prophecies.
Test everything and hold on to what is good.
Stay away from every kind of evil.
May God Himself make you holy, through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body stay blameless till Jesus comes back.
The One who called you is faithful. He will make it happen.
Pray for us, fam.
Show love to the fam with a holy hug.
Make sure this letter gets read to everyone in the church.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
