1 Corinthians 11

Head Coverings

1 Listen, follow my lead, just like I am following Christ’s.

2 I must give props because you all been holding down the traditions I taught you all.

3 But check this, I want you all to understand: Christ is the head of every man, the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered disrespects his head.

5 And any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered disrespects her head, it is like she got her head shaved.

6 If a woman is not going to cover her head, she might as well cut her hair off. But if it is shameful for her to have her hair cut or shaved, she better cover up.

7 A man should not cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.

8 Man was not made from woman, but woman was made from man.

9 And man was not created for woman, but woman for man.

10 So a woman oughta have authority on her head because of the angels.

11 But do not get it twisted, man is not independent of woman, and woman is not independent of man. In the Lord, they need each other.

12 Just like woman came from man, man comes from woman too, and all things come from God.

13 You all judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered,

14 Nature itself tells you that if a man has long hair, it is a shame to him, right,

15 But if a woman has long hair, it is her glory, because her hair was given to her as a covering.

16 Now if anybody want to argue about this, we do not have any other custom, and neither do the churches of God.

The Lord’s Supper

17 Now, about you all meeting up for church, I must keep it real, it is not all good. You all are doing more harm than good when you all come together.

18 First off, I hear when you all get together, there is division. And I believe it.

19 There must be differences among you all to show who is real.

20 So when you all meet, it is not really about eating the Lord’s Supper, is it,

21 Because when it is time to eat, everybody is just looking out for themselves. Some are hungry, and others are getting’ drunk.

22 You all got homes to eat and drink in, right, Or do you disrespect God’s church and shame those who do not have nothing, What should I say to that, I cannot praise you all for that.

23 Look, I gave you all what the Lord gave me: On the night He was betrayed, Jesus took some bread,

24 And when He gave thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you. Do this in memory of Me.”

25 After the meal, He took the cup and said, “This cup is the new deal in My blood. Whenever you all drink it, do it in memory of Me.”

26 Every time you all eat this bread and drink this cup, you tell the world about the Lord’s death till He comes back.

27 So if anybody eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a dirty way, they are guilty of dissing the body and blood of the Lord.

28 Everybody better check themselves before they eat the bread and drink the cup.

29 Because if you eat and drink without respect for the body, you bringing judgment on yourself.

30 That is why a lot of you all are weak, sick, and some have even died.

31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not be judged.

32 When the Lord judges us, it is to discipline us so we do not get condemned with the world.

33 So, fam, when you all come together to eat, wait for each other.

34 If you hungry, eat at home so you all do not get judged when you meet up. I will give you all more instructions when I come through.
