Titus 3

Read Titus 3 in clear, relatable modern language.

Living as God’s People

1 Remind the people to respect authorities, obey laws, and be ready to do good.

2 Do not slander anyone, avoid drama, be peaceful, and show humility to everyone.

3 We used to be wild too, foolish, disobedient, deceived, caught up in sin, full of hate, and beefing with each other.

Saved by Grace, Not Works

4 But when God’s kindness and love showed up,

5 He saved us, not because we deserved it, but because of His mercy. He washed us clean, giving us a new birth through the Holy Spirit,

6 who He poured out generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.

7 So now, we are made right by His grace and have the hope of eternal life.

Devotion to Good Works

8 This is solid truth. Teach it so believers stay focused on doing good, it is useful and beneficial.

9 Stay away from dumb arguments about the law, they are pointless and a waste of time.

10 If someone is stirring up division, warn them once, then twice. After that, leave them alone.

11 They are twisted and sinning, and they know they are in the wrong.

Final Instructions and Greetings

12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, come meet me in Nicopolis, I am planning to winter there.

13 Help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey. Make sure they got everything they need.

14 Our people must learn to stay focused on doing good and meeting real needs, so they are not unproductive.

15 Everyone here sends their love. Greet everyone who loves us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
