Revelation 7

The Sealed of Israel

1 After all that, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so no wind could blow on the land, the sea, or any tree.

2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. He shouted to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and sea,

3 “Hold up! Do not mess with the land, the sea, or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of God’s servants.”

4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

5 From Judah, 12,000 were sealed; from Reuben, 12,000; from Gad, 12,000;

6 From Asher, 12,000; from Naphtali, 12,000; from Manasseh, 12,000;

7 From Simeon, 12,000; from Levi, 12,000; from Issachar, 12,000;

8 From Zebulun, 12,000; from Joseph, 12,000; from Benjamin, 12,000 sealed.

The Great Multitude

9 After this, I looked and saw a massive crowd, too many to count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were standing in front of the throne and the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches.

10 They shouted, “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

11 All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living beings. They fell face down before the throne and worshiped God,

12 Saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!”

13 Then one of the elders asked me, “Who are these people dressed in white robes, and where did they come from?”

14 I said, “Sir, you know.” And he told me, “These are the ones who went through the great struggle. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 That is why they are here, in front of God’s throne, serving him day and night in his temple. And the One sitting on the throne will spread his shelter over them.

16 They will never go hungry or thirsty again, and the sun will not beat down on them, nor any burning heat.

17 The Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”
