Revelation 14

The Lamb, the Harvest, and the Final Warning

1 I looked, and there stood the Lamb on Mount Zion. With Him were 144,000 people carrying His name and His Father’s name on their foreheads.

2 I heard a sound from heaven like roaring waters and loud thunder, yet it also sounded like musicians playing harps.

3 They sang a new song before the throne, the four living beings, and the elders. Nobody could learn it except the 144,000 redeemed from the earth.

4 These are the ones who did not corrupt themselves but stayed faithful. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes and were purchased as firstfruits for God and the Lamb.

5 No lie was found in their mouths; they stand without blame.

6 Then I saw another angel flying overhead with the eternal gospel to announce to every nation, tribe, language, and people.

7 He called loudly, “Honor God and give Him glory, because His hour of judgment has arrived. Worship the One who made heaven, earth, sea, and springs of water.”

8 A second angel followed, announcing, “Babylon the Great has fallen! She made the nations drink the wine of her corrupt passion.”

9 A third angel shouted, “Anyone who worships the beast and its image or receives its mark on the forehead or hand must hear this warning.”

10 That person will drink the undiluted wine of God’s wrath poured into His cup and face fire and sulfur before the holy angels and the Lamb.

11 The smoke of their torment rises forever. Those who worship the beast and receive its mark find no rest day or night.”

12 This is where God’s people need endurance, those who obey His commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

13 Then I heard a heavenly voice say, “Write this: From now on, blessed are those who die belonging to the Lord.” The Spirit says, “Yes, they will rest from their labor, because their faithful works follow them.”

14 I looked and saw a white cloud. Someone like the Son of Man sat on it, wearing a gold crown and holding a sharp sickle.

15 Another angel came from the temple and called to the One on the cloud, “Swing Your sickle and harvest, because the earth’s crop is ripe.”

16 The One sitting on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

17 Then another angel came out of heaven’s temple carrying a sharp sickle.

18 An angel with authority over fire came from the altar and shouted, “Use your sickle and gather the grapes from the earth’s vine, because they are fully ripe.”

19 The angel swung his sickle, gathered the grapes, and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath.

20 The winepress was trampled outside the city. Blood flowed from it as high as horses’ bridles for about 180 miles.
