A Cry for Help
Save me, God, because the waters got to my throat.
I sunk in deep mud where there is not anything to stand on; I went into deep waters, And the flood went over me.
I am tired from crying; my throat is dry; My eyes are messed up from waiting for my God.
Those who hate me for no reason are more than the hairs on my head; Those who look to mess me up are strong, my enemies with lies. I must pay back what I did not even take.
A Confession of Sin
God, You know my foolishness; My sins are not hidden from You.
Do not let them who wait on You get embarrassed for me, O Lord God of armies; Do not let them who look for You get shamed for me, O God of Israel.
Because for Your sake I took a diss; Shame covered my face.
I am a stranger to my homies, And a foreigner to my mom’s kids.
Because the fire for Your house ate me up, And the disses of those who diss You hit me.
When I cried and I fasted, It was a diss to me.
When I made sackcloth my clothes, I was a joke to them.
Those who sit in the city gates talk about me, And I am the song of those who drink liquor.
A Prayer for Mercy
But me, my prayer is to You, Lord, In a time of favor; God, in Your massive grace, answer me with Your loyal rescue.
Pull me out of the mud, so I do not sink; Let me be rescued from those who hate me, and from the deep waters.
Do not let the flood of waters go over me, And do not let the deep swallow me, And do not let the pit shut its mouth on me.
Answer me, Lord, because Your grace is dope; Turn to me because of Your massive mercy.
And do not hide Your face from Your servant, because I am in a tight spot; hurry up and answer me.
Come close to my soul and rescue it; Rescue me because of my haters.
A Plea for Justice
You know my diss, my shame, and my disrespect; All my enemies are in front of You.
Diss broke my heart, and I am weak; I looked for somebody to feel with me, but there was nobody; And for somebody to comfort me, but I found nobody.
They gave me poison for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Let their table in front of them be a trap; And when they feel safe, let it be a snare.
Let their eyes get dark so they cannot see, And make their loins shake all the time.
Pour Your anger on them, And let Your hot wrath catch them.
Let their home be empty, And nobody live in their tents.
Because they chase the one You hit, And they talk about the pain of the ones You wounded.
Add sin to their sin, And do not let them be part of Your righteousness.
Let them be wiped from the book of life, And not be written with the righteous.
A Song of Thanksgiving
But me, I am in pain and suffering; Let Your rescue, God, hold me up.
I will praise the name of God with a song, And I will give Him props with a thank you.
And that will be more pleasing to the Lord than a bull, Than an ox with horns and hooves.
The humble will see and be happy; You who look for God, your heart will live.
Because the Lord listens to the needy, And do not look down on His prisoners.
Let the heavens and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them.
Because God will save Zion And build the cities of Judah, So they can live there and own it.
The family of His servants will get it, And those who love His name will live in it.
