Psalms 52

A Curse Against a Deceitful Man

1 Why are you bragging about evil, you big-time bully, God’s grace is for real.

2 Your tongue cooks up evil, Like a sharp razor, doing tricks.

3 You love evil more than good, And lies more than talking right.

4 You love all kinds of words that swallow up, You sneaky tongue.

5 God is going to break you forever; He is going to grab you and pull you out of your tent, And pull you out of the land of the living.

The Righteous Trust in God

6 The righteous will see and be in awe; They will laugh at him:

7 “Look at the dude who did not make God his safe spot, But trusted in his massive wealth And was strong in his evil.”

8 But me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house; I trust in the grace of God forever.

9 I will thank You forever, because You did it, And I will wait on Your name, because it is good, In front of Your faithful ones.
