Morning Prayer for Protection
1 Listen up to my words, Lord, Pay attention to my groans.
2 My King and my God, listen to my plea, because I am praying to You.
3 In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; In the morning, I lay it all out for You and wait up.
4 You are not a God who is with wickedness; Evil has no place with You.
5 The proud cannot hang in Your presence; You hate all who do wrong.
6 You destroy the ones who lie. The Lord hates bloodthirsty and sneaky people.
A Cry for Justice
7 But me, because of Your massive grace, I can get in Your house. I am going to bow down in Your holy temple with respect.
8 Lead me in Your justice, Lord, because of my enemies; Straighten the path for me.
9 They are not trustworthy, not a single one. Inside, they are straight-up snakes. Their throat is like an open grave; They got slick tongues.
10 Hit them, God! Let their own schemes trip them up. Kick them out because of their many sins, because they came against You.
11 But let everyone who runs to You be happy; Let them always cheer, because You protect them. Let those who love Your name celebrate in You.
12 Because You bless the righteous, Lord; You surround them with favor like a shield.
