A Deep Longing for God

1 Like a deer wanting water, So my soul wants You, God.

2 My soul is thirsty for God, for the living God. When can I go and see God’s face,

3 My tears been my food day and night, While they always be saying to me, “Where is your God?

A Word of Encouragement

4 I remember these things as I spill my soul out: How I used to walk with the crowd and lead them to God’s house With a sound of cheering and thanking, a festive crowd.

5 Why are you down, my soul? Why are you so messed up inside me? Hope in God, because I am going to thank Him again for His help.

6 My God, my soul is all down; So I am thinking about You from the land of Jordan, From Hermon, from Mount Mizar.

7 One deep calls to another deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and rollers went over me.

8 The Lord will order His grace in the day, And in the night His song will be with me, A prayer to the God of my life.

A Cry for God’s Justice

9 I will say to God my Rock, “Why do You forget me? Why must I walk around feeling sad because my enemy is messing with me?”

10 As if a sword is in my bones, my haters are clowning on me While they always say to me, “Where is your God?”

11 Why are you down, my soul? Why are you so messed up inside me? Hope in God, because I am going to thank Him again, my rescuer and my God.
