Psalms 122

A Song for Jerusalem

1 I was happy when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

2 Our feet are standing In your gates, O Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem, you are built as a city That is solid together.

4 The tribes went up there, the tribes of the Lord, As a law for Israel, to thank the name of the Lord.

5 Because there were the thrones for judgment, The thrones of the family of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; They will be doing good who love you.

7 Peace be inside your walls, And safety in your palaces.

8 For the sake of my homies and my friends, I will say, “Peace be in you.”

9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will look for your good.
