1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

2 A good man gets favor from the Lord, but He condemns those with evil plans.

4 A noble wife is her husband’s crown, but a shameful one rots his bones.

5 The plans of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked deceitful.

6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.

7 The wicked get overthrown and vanish, but the house of the righteous stands firm.

8 A man gets praised for his wisdom, but a warped mind gets despised.

9 Better to be low and have a servant than to act important and go hungry.

10 A righteous man cares for his animals, but the mercy of the wicked cruel.

11 Whoever works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies has no sense.

12 The wicked crave what evil men get, but the roots of the righteous bear fruit.

13 An evil man trapped by his own words, but the righteous escape trouble.

20 Deceit in hearts that plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace.

21 No harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked full of trouble.

22 The Lord hates lying lips, but He delights in those who speak truth.

23 A wise man hides his knowledge, but fools broadcast their stupidity.

24 Diligent hands rule, but lazy ones end up slaving.

25 Anxiety weighs a man down, but a kind word lifts him up.

26 The righteous choose friends carefully, but the way of the wicked misleads them.

27 The lazy man will not roast what he hunted, but diligence brings wealth.

28 In the path of righteousness there is life; that path do not lead to death.
