The Day of the LORD
1 “Look, the day is coming, burning like a furnace. All the proud and everyone who does evil will be like dry straw. That day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD of armies. “It will leave them with nothing, no root, no branch.
2 But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. You will go out and move freely like calves released from the stall.
3 You will trample the wicked, because they will be ashes under your feet on the day I act,” says the LORD of armies.
Final Instructions and Promise
4 “Remember the law of My servant Moses, the commands and decrees I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
5 Look, I am going to send you the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes.
6 He will turn the hearts of fathers back to their children, and the hearts of children back to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with complete destruction.”
