Leviticus 2

General Instructions for Grain Offerings

1 The Lord told Moses, When someone brings a grain offering to Me, it must be fine flour. Pour olive oil on it and add some frankincense.

2 Take it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. They will scoop out a handful of flour, oil, and frankincense, and burn it on the altar as a sacrifice. This will be a sweet-smelling gift to Me.

3 The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. This part is holy because it is from My fire offerings.

Baked Grain Offerings

4 If you bring a grain offering baked in the oven, it must be made without yeast, either thin loaves mixed with olive oil or crispy wafers brushed with oil.

5 If you bring a grain offering cooked on a griddle, it must be made with fine flour and no yeast, mixed with olive oil.

6 Break it into pieces and pour more oil on it, it is a grain offering.

7 If your grain offering is cooked in a pan, use fine flour and olive oil.

8 Take your grain offering to the Lord, hand it to the priest, and he will bring it to the altar.

9 The priest will take a portion of the grain and burn it on the altar as a sweet-smelling gift to Me.

10 The rest goes to Aaron and his sons. This part is holy because it is from My fire offerings.

11 Do not bring Me any grain offering made with yeast or honey, it cannot be burned as a fire offering to Me.

12 You can bring yeast and honey as a first-fruits offering, but do not burn them on the altar.

13 Every grain offering must be seasoned with salt. Never forget to put salt in your offering, it is part of My eternal covenant with you all.

First-fruits Grain Offerings

14 If you bring a first-fruits offering to Me, bring fresh grain, crushed and roasted in the fire.

15 Put olive oil and frankincense on it, it is a grain offering.

16 The priest will burn part of the crushed grain, oil, and all the frankincense on the altar as a sweet-smelling gift to Me.
