The Fall
That snake was sly, the slickest animal God made. It slid up on the woman like, ‘Listen, did God really say you cannot eat from any tree in this garden,’
The woman said, ‘Nah, we can eat fruit from the trees in the garden.’
‘But God said, Do not eat or touch the fruit from the tree in the middle, or you are dead.’
The snake said, ‘Man, stop playing. You are not going to die.’
‘God knows as soon as you eat it, your eyes will open, and you will be like Him, knowing good and evil.’
The woman looked at the fruit and thought, ‘Dang, that looks good.’ She grabbed it, ate it, and handed some to her man, and he ate it too.
Then their eyes opened, and they were like, ‘Oh snap, we are naked!’ So, they stitched fig leaves together to cover themselves up.
They heard God strolling through the garden in the evening breeze. They panicked and hid in the bushes.
God called out, ‘Listen, Adam, where you at,’
Adam said, ‘I heard You, but I was shook because I am naked, so I hid.’
God said, ‘Who told you that, Did you eat from the tree I told you not to touch?’
Adam said, ‘Man, the woman You gave me handed me the fruit, so I ate it.’
God asked the woman, ‘What is this you did?’ She said, ‘The snake tricked me, so I ate.’
God told the snake, ‘You are cursed for this. You will crawl on your belly and eat dirt all your life.’
‘I am putting beef between you and the woman. Her kid is going to crush your head, and you will bite His heel.’
To the woman, He said, ‘Giving birth is going to hurt, a lot. You will still want your man, but he will run the show.’
To Adam, He said, ‘You listened to your girl and ate from that tree, Now the ground’s cursed. You will struggle to grow food from it.’
‘It is going to grow weeds and thorns, and you will eat plants from the field.’
‘You will sweat for your food until you go back to the dirt. You came from dust, and you are going back to it.’
Adam named his wife Eve because she would be the mother of everyone alive.
God made them proper clothes out of animal skins to cover up.
God said, ‘Man’s become like Us, knowing good and evil. We cannot let him eat from the tree of life and live forever.’
So, God kicked them out of Eden to work the ground they came from.
He set up angels and a flaming sword to block the way to the tree of life.
