1 Timothy 4

Warnings Against Apostasy

1 Listen, the Spirit already warned us: in the last days, some folks are going to dip out on the faith. They will start listening to fake teachers and straight-up demonic lies.

2 These liars got their consciences burned out, like they do not even feel guilt anymore.

3 They will tell folks not to get married and to stay away from certain foods, even though God created all that for believers to enjoy with thankful hearts.

4 Everything God made is good, so do not be out here calling stuff bad if God already blessed it.

5 It is made holy through God’s Word and prayer, so eat and give thanks.

A Good Minister of Christ

6 If you teach this to the fam, you will be a real one, a good servant of Christ Jesus. Stay nourished in the Word and the truth you have been living by.

7 Do not waste time on silly myths and nonsense. Train yourself to be godly.

8 Working out is cool and all, but godliness, That is the real gain, it is good for now and forever.

9 This is a solid fact, no cap, it is worth putting all your energy into.

10 That is why we grind and struggle, because we got our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially those who believe.

11 Command and teach these things.

12 Do not let anyone diss you because you are young. Be an example in how you talk, act, love, stay faithful, and keep it pure.

13 Until I pull up, stay focused on reading Scripture, encouraging the fam, and teaching.

14 Do not sleep on the gift God gave you when the elders laid hands on you and prophesied.

15 Be about that action, live this out so everyone can see your progress.

16 Watch yourself and your teaching closely. Stay locked in, because if you do, you will save both yourself and the ones who hear you.
