Overseers and Deacons

Listen, here is the real deal: If someone wants to be a leader in the church, that is a solid ambition.

But a leader must be above reproach, faithful to their spouse, self-controlled, wise, respectable, hospitable, and able to teach.

They cannot be out here wilding, no drunk vibes, no violence, no greed for cash. Instead, they need to be gentle, chill, and not always beefing with folks.

They must handle their own family business well, keeping their kids in check with mad respect.

Because if they cannot even manage their own house, how they are going to handle God’s church,

They cannot be new to this faith life, or else pride might mess them up, and they will end up falling like the devil did.

And they must have a good rep with folks outside the church too, so they do not get trapped up by haters or bad decisions.

The deacons, same deal, they need to be respected, keep their word, not wild drinkers, and not hustling for dirty money.

They need to hold tight to the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.

Test them first, make sure they are solid before putting them in the game.

Their wives must be respected too, no gossip queens, but self-controlled and trustworthy in everything.

Deacons must be faithful to their spouse and manage their kids and household well.

Those who serve well in this role will earn mad respect and grow in boldness in their faith in Christ Jesus.

The Mystery of Godliness

I am writing this to you, hoping I will pull up soon,

But if I am delayed, you will know how people are supposed to move in God’s house. The church is the pillar and foundation of truth, it is God’s fam, straight up.

No debate. This is the foundation of our faith: God stepped into humanity and was seen in the flesh. The Holy Spirit confirmed exactly who He is. The angels witnessed His work. His message was announced to every nation. People all over the world put their trust in Him. Then He was received back into heavenly glory.
