Corinthians 6

Read 1 Corinthians 6 in clear, relatable modern language.

Lawsuits Among Believers

Listen, how are y’all going to have beef with each other and then run to unbelievers to settle it instead of bringing it before God’s people?

Do you not all know the saints are going to judge the world one day, And if you all are going to judge the world, how you cannot handle these little disputes right now,

You all do not even realize we are going to judge angels. So why could you not all deal with everyday life stuff,

If you all got arguments about regular life, why put people in charge who do not even follow God,

I am saying this to shame you all a little bit. Are there not one wise person among you all who can settle problems between believers,

Instead, one believer sues another believer, and y’all are doing it in front of unbelievers too.

Honestly, the fact you all suing each other at all already means you all took an L spiritually. Why not just accept being wronged, Why not take the loss instead of tearing each other apart,

But nah, instead you all out here doing each other dirty and cheating your own brothers and sisters in Christ.

Warning Against Sin

Do not get it twisted, fam: people living wicked lifestyles without repentance are not inheriting God’s kingdom. Folks caught up in sexual sin, idol worship, adultery, acting perverted, homosexuality,

thieves, greedy people, drunkards, people always talking reckless, and scammers, they not inheriting God’s kingdom either.

And real talk, some of you all used to live exactly like that. But you all got washed clean. You all got sanctified. You all got made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Honor God with Your Body

Some of you all saying, “I am free to do whatever.” Yeah, but not everything is actually good for you. And I refuse to let anything control me.

Folks say, “Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food,” but God is going to do away with both eventually. The body is not made for sexual sin, it is made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about the body too.

God raised Jesus from the dead, and through His power He is going to raise us up too.

Do you not all know your bodies are connected to Christ Himself, So why would I take something connected to Christ and join it to sexual sin, Absolutely not.

Do you not all know when somebody joins themselves sexually to another person, they become one body with them, Scripture says, “The two shall become one flesh.”

But the one who joins themselves to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.

Run from sexual sin, fam. Every other sin somebody commits is outside the body, but sexual sin hits your own body directly.

Do you not all know your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God, You all do not belong to yourselves anymore.

You all were bought with a price. So honor God with your body.
