The Sons of David
1 Here go the sons David had while he was at Hebron: Amnon, his firstborn, by Ahinoam from Jezreel. Second was Daniel, by Abigail from Carmel.
2 Third was Absalom, son of Maacah (she was the daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur). Fourth was Adonijah, son of Haggith.
3 Fifth was Shephatiah, by Abital. Sixth was Ithream, by Eglah, David’s wife.
4 So David had six sons in Hebron. He ruled there for seven years and six months. Then he moved to Jerusalem, where he ruled for thirty-three more years.
Sons Born to David in Jerusalem
5 Here is the sons he had in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, all four by Bath-shua (a.k.a. Bathsheba), daughter of Ammiel.
6 Then he had: Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet,
7 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
8 Elishama, Eliada, Eliphelet (another one, yep, same name twice).
9 In total, David had 9 sons born in Jerusalem, not counting the ones from side chicks. Tamar was his daughter, she was Absalom’s sister.
Kings from Solomon’s Line
10 Solomon’s son was Rehoboam. Rehoboam had Abijah. Abijah had Asa. Asa had Jehoshaphat.
11 Jehoshaphat had Joram. Joram had Ahaziah. Ahaziah had Joash.
12 Joash had Amaziah. Amaziah had Azariah. Azariah had Jotham.
13 Jotham had Ahaz. Ahaz had Hezekiah. Hezekiah had Manasseh.
14 Manasseh had Amon. Amon had Josiah.
15 Josiah had four sons: Johanan (firstborn), Jehoiakim (second), Zedekiah (third), Shallum (fourth).
16 Jehoiakim had Jeconiah (also called Jehoiachin) and Zedekiah.
The Line of Jeconiah (After the Exile)
17 When Jeconiah was taken captive, he had sons: Shealtiel was one of them.
18 Shealtiel’s sons were: Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, Nedabiah.
19 Pedaiah had Zerubbabel and Shimei. Zerubbabel had Meshullam and Hananiah. Their sister’s name was Shelomith.
20 Zerubbabel also had five more sons: Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, Jushab-hesed.
21 Hananiah’s sons were Pelatiah and Jeshaiah. Jeshaiah’s son line kept going with: Rephaiah, Arnan, Obadiah, and Shecaniah.
22 Shecaniah had Shemaiah. Shemaiah had six sons: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat.
23 Neariah had three sons: Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam.
24 Elioenai had seven sons: Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, Anani.
