Rabbah Falls & Giants Get Dropped
And it happened, at the turn of the year, at the time when kings usually go to war, Joab led out the main force of the army and destroyed the land of the Ammonites and came and laid siege to Rabbah. But David stayed in Jerusalem. Joab hit Rabbah and tore it down.
David took the crown from the head of their king. He found it weighed about seventy-five pounds of gold and had a precious stone on it. It was placed on David’s head. He also brought out a huge amount of loot from the city.
He brought out the people who were in it and put them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes. David did the same to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all his army went back to Jerusalem.
Giants Get Dropped
After this, war popped off at Gezer with the Philistines. Sibbecai the Hushathite smacked down Sippai, one of the descendants of the giants, and they were humbled.
War broke out again with the Philistines, and Elhanan son of Jair smacked down Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear shaft was like a weaver’s beam.
War broke out again at Gath, where there was a huge dude with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in total, and he was also a descendant of the giants.
When he clowned Israel, Jonathan son of Shimea, David’s brother, smacked him down.
These were the descendants of the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
