Zechariah 14

The LORD Will Come and Reign

1 Look, a day of the LORD is coming when your possessions will be divided in your presence.

2 I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women violated. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.

3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations like He fights on a day of battle.

4 On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will split in two from east to west, forming a huge valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

5 You will flee through My mountain valley, because the valley between the mountains will reach to Azel. You will flee like you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.

6 On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost.

7 It will be a unique day known only to the LORD, without day or night, but when evening comes there will be light.

8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the eastern sea and half toward the western sea, in summer and winter alike.

9 The LORD will be King over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and His name alone will be worshiped.

Jerusalem Will Be Secure

10 The whole land will be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.

11 People will live there, and never again will there be destruction. Jerusalem will be secure.

The Nations Will Be Defeated

12 This will be the plague the LORD strikes all the nations that fought against Jerusalem with: their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

13 On that day a great panic from the LORD will fall on them. Each will grab the hand of another, and they will attack each other.

14 Judah too will fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold, silver, and clothing in great abundance.

15 A similar plague will strike the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.

All Nations Will Worship the King

16 Then everyone who survives from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of armies, and celebrate the Festival of Booths.

17 If any family on earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of armies, they will have no rain.

18 If the people of Egypt do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. This will be the plague the LORD brings on the nations that does not go up to celebrate the Festival of Booths.

19 This will be Egypt’s punishment and the punishment of all the nations that does not go up to celebrate the Festival of Booths.

Holiness to the LORD

20 On that day HOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the LORD’s house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar.

21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of armies, and all who sacrifice will come and take from them and cook in them. On that day there will no longer be a merchant in the house of the LORD of armies.
