Revelation 22

The River of Life

1 The angel showed me the river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb.

2 Down the middle of the city street. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, one each month, and the leaves were for healing the nations.

3 No more curse. God’s throne and the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him.

4 They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

5 There will be no night there, no lamp, no sun, because the Lord God gives them light. And they will reign forever and ever.

Jesus Is Coming Soon

6 The angel said, ‘These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord sent His angel to show His servants what must happen soon.’

7 ‘Look, I am coming quickly. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of this prophecy.’

8 I, John, heard and saw these things. When I did, I fell down to worship the angel.

9 But he said, ‘Do not do that! Worship God!’

Final Invitation and Warning

10 Then he told me, ‘Do not seal up the words of this prophecy, because the time is near.

11 Let the one doing wrong keep doing wrong; let the righteous keep doing right; let the holy keep being holy.’

12 ‘Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give each person what they are due.

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.’

14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so they can have the right to the tree of life and enter the city.

15 Outside are the dogs, sorcerers, sexually immoral, murderers, idol worshipers, and everyone who loves and practices lies.

The Final Promise

16 ‘I, Jesus, sent my angel to testify these things to the churches. I am the Root and Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.’

17 The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ Let anyone who hears say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come.

18 I warn everyone who hears this prophecy: do not add to it, and do not take away from it.

19 If anyone messes with it, God will remove their share from the tree of life and the holy city.

20 He who testifies says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
