Psalms 99

A Hymn to the Holy King

1 The Lord is King; let the people tremble; He sits on the throne over the cherubim; let the earth shake.

2 The Lord is big in Zion, And He is lifted high over all the people.

3 Let them thank Your name, which is big and awesome; He is holy!

A Declaration of God’s Righteousness

4 The King’s strength also loves justice; You set up what is right; You did justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5 Lift up the Lord our God, And bow down to His footstool; He is holy!

6 Moses and Aaron among His priests, And Samuel among those who call on His name, They called on the Lord, and He answered them.

7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; They kept His promises and the law He gave them.

8 Lord our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, Even though You got payback for their doings.

9 Lift up the Lord our God, And bow down at His holy mountain, because the Lord our God is holy!
