Psalms 2

The Reign of the Lord’s Chosen King

1 Why the nations wilding, Why people wasting time plotting foolish moves,

2 The kings of the earth squad up, Rulers link up against the Lord and His Chosen One.

3 They say, ‘Let us break loose from God, Cut off His chains, toss His rules.’

4 But the One on the throne in heaven laughs, God just clowns them.

5 Then He speaks with heat, His wrath shakes them up.

6 ‘I already put My King on the throne, Posted up in Zion, My holy block.’

7 The King says, ‘I will tell you all what the Lord said: You are My Son; today I claim You.

8 Ask Me and I will give You the nations as Your turf, The whole earth as Your hood.

9 You will smash them with an iron rod, Shatter them like glass.’

10 So, kings, wise up. Rulers of the earth, take the warning.

11 Serve the Lord with respect, Rejoice but keep it trembling.

12 Kiss the Son or face His anger, because His wrath can blow up quick. But blessed are the ones Who run to Him for safety.
