Miriam and Aaron Speak Against Moses
Miriam and Aaron started talking bad about Moses because he married a Cushite woman.
They said, Does the Lord only speak through Moses, is He not spoken through us too, But the Lord heard them.
Now Moses was the humblest man on earth.
Right away, the Lord told Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, You all three, come to the Tabernacle. So they went.
The Lord came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle, and called out, Aaron and Miriam. They stepped forward.
God Puts Miriam and Aaron in Their Place
The Lord said, Listen up. When I speak to a prophet, I give them visions or dreams.
But Moses is different. He is My faithful servant over all My house.
I speak to him face to face, clearly, not in riddles. He sees the form of the Lord. So why were you not all afraid to speak against him,
The Lord’s anger burned against them, and He left.
Miriam Gets Hit with Leprosy
As soon as the cloud left the Tabernacle, Miriam’s skin turned white with leprosy. Aaron turned to her and saw she was covered in disease.
Aaron said to Moses, My lord, please do not hold this sin against us. We were foolish.
Please do not let her be like a stillborn baby whose flesh is half-rotted when it comes out the womb.
So Moses cried out to the Lord, Please, God, heal her.
The Lord said, If her father had spit in her face, she would be shamed for seven days, right, Let her stay outside the camp for seven days. Then she can come back.
So Miriam was sent outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move until she was allowed back in.
Then the Israelites left Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
