Simeon’s Territory
1 Second lot went to the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan. Their land was inside Judah’s territory.
2 They got Beersheba, Sheba, Moladah.
3 Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem.
4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah.
5 Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah.
6 Beth-lebaoth, Sharuhen - 13 towns with villages.
7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether, Ashan - 4 towns with villages.
8 Plus all the villages around those towns as far as Baalath-beer (aka Ramah of the South). That is what Simeon’s fam got.
9 Simeon’s land came out of Judah’s share, because Judah had more than enough. So Simeon’s crew got land inside Judah’s turf.
Zebulun’s Territory
10 Third lot went to Zebulun, clan by clan. The border ran as far as Sarid.
11 Then went west to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and ran by Jokneam.
12 From Sarid, it turned east to the sunrise, went to Kisloth-tabor, on to Daberath, and up to Japhia.
13 Then it ran east to Gath-hepher and Eth-kazin, out to Rimmon, and curved to Neah.
14 The border curved north to Hannathon and ended at the valley of Iphtahel.
15 Included towns were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, Bethlehem - 12 towns with villages.
16 That is Zebulun’s hood, tribe by tribe.
Issachar’s Territory
17 Fourth lot went to Issachar, clan by clan.
18 Their land had Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem.
19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath.
20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez.
21 Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, Beth-pazzez.
22 The border touched Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh and ended at the Jordan - 16 towns with villages.
23 That was Issachar’s land, tribe by tribe.
Asher’s Territory
24 Fifth lot went to Asher, clan by clan.
25 Their land included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph.
26 Allammelech, Amad, Mishal - west to Carmel and Shihor-libnath.
27 It turned east to Beth-dagon, touched Zebulun and the Iphtahel Valley north of Beth-emek and Neiel, and went to Cabul on the left.
28 Also got Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, Kanah, all the way to Greater Sidon.
29 Then curved to Ramah, to the city of Tyre, turned to Hosah, and ended at the sea near Achzib.
30 Also got Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob - 22 towns with villages.
31 That is what Asher’s tribe got, by families.
Naphtali’s Territory
32 Sixth lot went to Naphtali, clan by clan.
33 Their border started at Heleph, went through Zaanannim, Adami-nekeb, Jabneel, to Lakkum, ending at the Jordan.
34 Then it turned west to Aznoth-tabor, on to Hukkok, touched Zebulun south, Asher west, and Judah at the Jordan to the east.
35 Strong towns: Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth.
36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor.
37 Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor.
38 Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, Beth-shemesh - 19 towns with villages.
39 That is Naphtali’s territory, by families.
Dan’s Territory
40 Seventh lot went to Dan, tribe by tribe.
41 Their land had Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh.
42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah.
43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron.
44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath.
45 Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon.
46 Me-jarkon, Rakkon, and the border near Joppa.
47 Dan lost some territory so they went up and fought Leshem, took it, renamed it Dan, and lived there.
48 That is what Dan’s tribe got, family by family.
Joshua Gets His Own Spot
49 After the land was divided, Israel gave Joshua a piece of land too.
50 They gave him the town he asked for - Timnath-serah in Ephraim’s hill country. He built it up and moved in.
Wrapping Up the Land Assignments
51 These land divisions were done by Eleazar the priest, Joshua, and the leaders. They cast lots before God at Shiloh by the Tent of Meeting. That is how they split the land.
