Hosea 14

A Call to Repentance

1 Come back, Israel, to the LORD your God, because your sins made you fall.

2 Bring words with you and return to the LORD. Say to Him, “Forgive all our sin and accept what is good, so we can offer You praise from our lips.

3 Assyria will not save us, we will not ride on horses anymore, and we will not call the work of our hands ‘our god,’ because in You the fatherless find mercy.”

God’s Promise to Heal

4 I will heal their unfaithfulness, I will love them freely, because My anger has turned away from them.

5 I will be like dew to Israel, he will bloom like a lily and take root like the cedars of Lebanon.

6 His branches will spread, his beauty will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like Lebanon.

7 People will come back and live under his shade, they will grow grain and bloom like a vine. His fame will be like the wine of Lebanon.

8 Ephraim, what I must do with idols anymore, It is Me who answers and watches over him. I am like a green pine tree, your fruit comes from Me.

Final Wisdom

9 Whoever is wise, let them understand these things. Whoever is discerning, let them know them. The ways of the LORD are right. The righteous walk in them, but rebels stumble in them.
