David’s Victory Song

David sang this song to the Lord after He rescued him from all his enemies, including Saul.

“The Lord is my rock, my shield, my safe zone.

He is my fortress, my ride-or-die, the One I call on when it is war. He saves me, I run to Him and I am safe.”

“I called on the Lord, the One worthy of all praise, and He saved me from the ones tryna take me out.”

“Death had me surrounded like floodwaters. I was going under.

Chains of the grave tried to lock me in. Traps of death were closing in.”

“But I cried to the Lord, my God heard me from His temple. My cry hit His ears hard.”

“The earth shook. Heaven trembled. God showed up heated.

Smoke came from His nose, fire from His mouth, even the coals lit up.

He tore the skies open and came down, darkness under His feet.”

“He rode on a cherub, flew like the wind, wings full of power.

He wrapped Himself in darkness, storm clouds surrounded Him.”

“Lightning flashed from His glory, fire broke out ahead of Him.

The Lord thundered from heaven, the Most High’s voice boomed loud.”

“He launched arrows, scattered my enemies, sent lightning, they ran for cover.”

“The sea opened up, earth’s foundations were exposed, all because God’s breath was blowing like a storm.”

“He reached down, grabbed me from deep waters.

He rescued me from my enemies, even the ones stronger than me.

They came at me when I was weak, but the Lord was my support.”

“He brought me to a wide open space. He saved me because He has got love for me.”

“The Lord rewarded me for staying clean, He saw my hands were honest.

I followed His ways, did not walk away from His laws.

I kept His rules in front of me. I did not toss His commands aside.”

“I stayed loyal and clean in His sight.

That is why He blessed me, He saw my heart was right.”

“To the loyal, You show loyalty. To the blameless, You show favor.

To the pure, You show Yourself pure. But to the twisted, You play them at their own game.”

“You rescue the humble, but You shut down the proud.”

“You light up my path, Lord, You my lamp in the dark.

With You, I can run through a troop, leap over walls with no fear.”

“God’s way is perfect. His word, Flawless. He is a shield to all who trust Him.”

“Who else is God but the Lord, Who else is a rock like our God?”

“God gives me strength. He makes my way solid.

He gives me feet like a deer, I can stand on high ground.”

“He trains my hands for war, my arms can bend a bronze bow.”

“You gave me Your shield of victory, Your help lifted me up.”

“You cleared my path, I did not slip once.”

“I chased down my enemies, caught them and did not hold back.

I crushed them till they were done. They could not rise again.”

“You gave me strength to fight, made my enemies fold.”

“You made them turn their backs and run. I wiped out those who hated me.”

“They cried for help, but no one came. They even called on God, but He did not answer.”

“I ground them like dust in the wind, stomped them like dirt in the street.”

“You rescued me from beef with my own people. You made me king over nations, people I never knew now serve me.”

“They listen quick. Foreigners bow without a fight.”

“They lose heart, come trembling from their hideouts.”

“The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! My God is my Savior, I lift Him high!”

“He takes out my enemies, brings down the haters.”

“You lifted me above the ones tryna crush me, rescued me from violent men.”

“That is why I sing Your praises, Lord. I will shout Your name to the nations!”

“You give victories to Your king. You keep Your mercy locked in for David and his kids forever.”
