The Day of the Lord

This is my second letter to you all. I am trying to wake you up with these reminders.

Remember the words of the prophets and Jesus’ commands through the apostles.

In the last days, mockers will come, following their own cravings and saying,

“Where is this ‘coming’ He promised, Everything has been the same since the beginning.”

But they forget God made the heavens and earth by His word,

and He flooded the world with water.

That same word is holding everything now for the fire on Judgment Day.

Do not forget: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

God is not slow in keeping His promises. He is just patient, giving you all time to turn back to Him.

But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear, and everything will burn.

Since it is all getting destroyed, how should we live, Holy and godly lives,

waiting for and speeding up His return. That day will burn everything, but He will make new heavens and a new earth.

That is what we are waiting for, a new world where righteousness lives.

So, fam, be spotless, blameless, and at peace while waiting.

God’s patience means salvation. Paul wrote about this in his letters,

which some folks twist because they are hard to understand, leading to their own destruction.

So, you all know this. Stay on guard so you do not get carried away by the wicked.

Instead, grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus. To Him be glory forever. Amen.
