2 John 1

Greeting and Blessing

1 “Listen, it is the elder writing to the lady chosen by God, and her kids, who I love in truth, everybody who knows the truth loves you all too.”

2 “This love is real because of the truth that is in us and will be with us forever.”

3 “Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son, will be with us, flowing in truth and love.”

Walking in Truth and Love

4 “It made me so happy to hear that some of your kids are walking in truth, just like the Father told us to do.”

5 “Now, dear lady, I am telling you, not like this is new, but we have been told from the beginning, let us keep loving each other.”

6 “And love is walking in God’s commands. This is what He has commanded us: love each other.”

Warning Against False Teachers

7 “Watch out for these false teachers out here. They are not confessing that Jesus came in the flesh. Those are the ones who are straight-up antichrists.”

8 “Do not mess around and lose what we worked for. Hold tight to what is true so you can get your full reward.”

9 “Anybody who is running ahead and not staying with what Christ taught does not have God. But whoever sticks to that truth has both the Father and the Son.”

10 “If anyone comes to you and do not bring this teaching, do not let them in your crib and do not say ‘peace’ to them.”

11 “Because if you welcome them, you are part of their evil deeds.”

Final Words

12 “I got a lot more to say, but I am not tryna write it all down. I hope I can pull up on you soon, and we can talk face to face. That is when our joy will be complete.”
